5.4Our trip to Browick Rd school ♥

Today I and the other pupils from my diploma visited the

Browick Rd

School, to do a theatre in education performance (TIE). We had the task to produce our performance which we had been working on with Mrs Haythorpe for a few of our campaign lessons. I didn't participate in the performance as I was working on the t.v. ad. But those who performed today at Browick made a rather good job, The only downfall with how the performances went was that they could of projected the voices more clearer and loudly, and looked upto the audience more, so that they are keeping focused to what they are saying.  Another thing which I think was great today was as a few students didn't turn up because of the weather(snow) and the other remaining students from my diploma, stepped in at last minute and took there roles for what they had to do during there performances.
After the performances were shown, we were then split into groups to do the workshops, like we had planned. Firstly when we started with the workshops, I was a bit nervous, as I'm not really the one for speaking in front of everybody. But as the workshops went on I got more confident to how things were going, and enjoyed working with younger children, and showing them about sharing and donating, I think by the end of it I think they got the idea that its important to share+donate. Another thing why I thought it was a good morning as it was a really good experience.

Playing games with the year 2's.

Disscussing ideas with the children.

5.1 Why Barnado's is controversial ?

Why is Barnado's controversial ?
A breif introduction to who Barnado's are- Barnado's believes in children, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.
Why Barnado's is controversial- In 2008 Barnado's made a hard hitting emotion television advert. The advert included many horriffic scences, which were: a young girl being hit by her father, followed by taking drugs, and then mugging somebody, finally it resulted that the girl was then arrested. This specific advert recieved 400 complaints, this was due to adults saying this this advert was un approaite for children, and shouldn't be being shown as a television advert. But Barnodo's thought that it would get the message across quite well, as it shows what children have to deal with throughout everyday life. Which is so very upsetting to think this happens to several children. Although this is why Barnado's is out there to help anybody in need for some help.

5.4 How the process of donating went ♥

Reflecting on how I thought the donations process went :
As a result sadly nobody decided to help our campaign, as nobody supported us by donating their good quality goods which are not in use to them anymore! But to prevent this from happening again we will do something about it. By doing something about it we will try and make our message to donate more clearer so that people get the idea it’s not just a waste of time by getting rid of their good quality goods which are unwanted to them, it’s about YOU helping them poor unfortunate children who will have a smile on their faces when you help them in various ways, either donating money or giving items they you do not use anymore, but it's important that these products are in good condition, how you would wish to find them in a respectable manor of condition.

Our questionnaire for year 2 pupils

The questionnaire below is designed to let us get feedback from the children about how they felt about the day we spent with them: (normally the yes, no answers would be replaced with happy and unhappy faces to make it easier for the children to answer the questionnaire but they would not show up on the blog)

5.1

Understanding the nature and purpose of campaigns!
My example of an already existing campaign would be about Children and Need.
This is because Children and Need is a very good example of a campaign, it has been introduced since 1927. This campaign is one of the most popular organizations of campaigns, it happens in the middle of November every year.  This campaign is showing how successful it is been so far over the years as it is still running today.
The main messages or ideas behind the campaign.
The main messages behind this event are that this campaign supports unfortunate children all around the world. They do this by raising money in different ways or simply donating money to there local bank,t.v, online and the phone.
The target audience of the campaign.
The main target audience of this certain campaign would most probably be parents with children of their own, and maybe children themselves as they see unfortunate children and would like to help those less unfortunate then themselves.
- Another of the target audiences would be schools as they have many pupils in the school, that help raise money for children in need by doing all sorts of things like: Bringing in money for wearing non-school uniform, all a pudsey the bear cake sale, which is one of the favourites which happened at my middle school which was Robert Kett Junior.
The strategy of the campaign and the methods used to reach the target audience.
As a  strategy they use to promote they campaign they use a television programme which start early evening and runs throughout the evening to early hours of the morning. On this programme the people watching it are shown short clips of unfortunate children and there backgrounds, music-people singing live, and key speakers throughout the night and many other things are taken place throughout the programme.
- Another strategy they use to promate there campaign, is a mascot called pudsey bear, this then connects with the children who are watching, and is a very good way to put your campaign across even further, this started in 1985.
The success of the campaign in achieving its aims.
The 2009 appeal was a fantastic success raising a record breaking £39 million, this is already starting to make a massive difference to those poor less unfortuante children around the world, which is a great achievement from the target auidences who help this cause in the ways they do this.

5.2 workshop plan for year 2's

A Workshop Plan For The Year Twos♥
As part of the campaign module with our teacher Mrs Haythorpe we are going to visit the local infant school Browick Road. Whilst we are at the school we are going to be split up into small groups to produce a workshop for the year two to take part in. For the workshop we have planned several activites for the children to take part in, some of the suggestions have been: showing a piece of drama and in these performance there will be two year ten students arguing amongst a toy while the year two students are quitely watching to spot what wrong with this performance, and then they should therefore say that there not sharing so then they can come up and show what this piece of drama should look like. Another idea we have had to work with them is to get a few of the year two students to hide toys around the classroom whilst the remaing students will wait outside and then once the others have hidden the toys they can then come in and try and find the toys, but if they find more than one toy they will have to give it to another student who hasn't got one and that is therefore getting them to share between each other. Which is a great thing for them to learn how to do. Meanwhile the other half of my diploma group will be putting on a performance which they have been working on, this performance will hopefully get the message across about sharing and donating.
